I got to shoot my cousin’s wedding a few weeks back and it might have been one of my most craziest 24hrs I have ever experience in life. As some of you already know, I am currently enrolled in a Fire Fighter Academy. We have training M,W,F,S which last pretty much from sunrise to sunset. Before I had even known whether or not I was going to be selected for the academy I had been asked to shoot Blake and Janelle’s wedding. I was so pumped to be able to head to Seattle to document such an amazing day in their lives. The trouble was I had less than 24hr to make it up to Seattle, shoot as much of their wedding as I could, and then make it back on the last flight out so I wouldn’t miss academy Monday morning. Here’s where it gets interesting. The day before leaving for Seattle I got stung by two bees during our training. I might be just slightly allergic… My arm got beyond HUGE! So big and painful that Brianne insisted I go to the ER… Problem… my flight was to leave in 2 hours! We went anyways. According to the Dr. I had developed cellulitis in my arm. Thankfully I was able to be in and out of the hospital in 1hr and just be able to make my flight. Even though I wasn’t able to stay and capture their entire wedding, I think we were able to pull off a great day and get so many amazing pictures. Just shortly after their ceremony I had to race back to the airport to catch my flight, only to find out my it was delayed and I wouldn’t be landing in San Diego until after midnight! That 5:30 wake up call then next morning came way too quick.
All in all I would do it all over again. I married into a pretty awesome family and am so pumped I could be there for such a special occasion. Blake and Janelle, you guys rock and I am so pumped for you guys.
